MEXICO, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Toluca and Pachuca secured the final two places in Mexico's Liga MX quarterfinals on Sunday by eliminating Leon and Guadalajara.
Toluca beat Leon 4-2 on penalties after a late strike from Leon's Fidel Ambriz earned the hosts a 2-2 draw in normal time.
Earlier, Toluca pair Kevin Castaneda and Alexis Canelo scored either side of a Victor Davila goal.
Pachuca progressed to the knockout phase by virtue of a 4-2 home win over Guadalajara. Oscar Murillo and Roberto de la Rosa each scored braces for tho hosts while Carlos Antuna also netted twice for the visitors.
Toluca and Leon join Santos Laguna and Atlas as teams to qualify for the last eight through the repechage.
Cruz Azul, America, Puebla, and Monterrey earned a direct berth in the quarterfinals by virtue of finishing the regular season in the top four.
